François Blanc Casino celebrates 175th anniversary (March 2016)

François Blanc Casinok
Incredibly, it was 175 years ago that the first roulette ball rolled in Bad Homburg. The Luxembourg twins François & Louis Blanc had obtained from Landgrave Ludwig of Hesse-Homburg a licence to operate a casino. The picturesque setting and the medicinal springs formed a perfect symbiosis with gaming, and thus the spa town evolved into one of Europe’s leading gambling spas. François Blanc was later to repeat this success story when he built the Monte Carlo Casino, which is why, to this day, the Bad Homburg Casino is known as the “mother of Monte Carlo”.

The Casino has now taken the 175th anniversary as an occasion to celebrate in grand style with its guests. Alongside numerous events, there are of course opportunities to place your bets, including Germany’s most lucrative blackjack tournament. For the exclusive circle of participants, Gentleman Juggler Monsieur Jeton presented his urbane show.
